우리 학부 박건식 명예교수는 2021년 4월 28일, 국제 전기전자 기술자 학회 (IEEE) 전자소자협회(EDS) 진공전자기술위원회에서 수여하는 John R. Pierce Award를 수상하였다.
John R. Pierce Award for Excellence in Vacuum Electronics 는 이 분야에 대한 뛰어난 공헌을 인정하기 위해 2002년에 제정되었으며, 기술위원회 위원 투표로 수상자가 선정되며, 매년 IVEC 컨퍼런스에서 수상자가 발표된다.
