Fermiology, charge order, and quasiparticle integrity in cuprates
The high-Tc superconducting cuprates, with their fascinating phenomenology, have captured the attention of the scientific community for more than 30 years. Although we have gained extensive knowledge on their electronic structure based in particular on results from angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES [1]) and resonant x-rays scattering (RXS [2]), the interplay between fermiology, charger order, and quasiparticle integrity across the whole cuprate phase diagram remains still highly debated. In this talk, I will discuss that connection based on earlier results from single layer Tl2201 [3], Bi2201 [4], and NCCO [5] as well as bilayer YBCO [6,7]. This will be complemented by recent time-resolved ARPES [8] results on trilayer Bi2223, which is characterized by coupled CuO2 planes exhibiting different doping, quasiparticle integrity, superconducting pairing, and phase coherence.
